The Island Taxi Team:
Island Taxis 2008 LTD was started in November 2008 by Lindsay Gibbons after 6 years experience in the taxi industry on Waiheke Island. The company has seen a steady growth with the initial 2 taxis growing to 9 taxis in the last 2 years during a recession, this growth is something that the company is proud of and also what the local market needed. Island Taxis is now the Largest Locally owned company on Waiheke Island with a selection of different sized vehicles to meet every need.
Our team includes Greg Hartley who has 58 years experience of life on Waiheke Island and there isn't much that Greg doesn't know about the Island and his wealth of knowledge and history is enormous. This experience sees Greg being a fantastic tour provider, who else can claim their bedroom once sat where the now Beach Front Cafe on Onetangi is!
Richard Cannon, known as Kippa to his friends and fellow musicians, has 12 years of history living on Waiheke. Kippa is a world famous on Waiheke musician with extensive knowledge of what is happening musically/ Live entertainment on the Island at any given time. Fran Bennett and Ian Johnston are long time island residents. They have recently joined us and both bring years of experience as taxi drivers with them. Fran is also our 4 wheel drive specialist. Christine Gisby, Rob Griffin and Jonathan Low are the newest additions to the team.
We are also backed up by a group of part time drivers who help out as demand increases in the summer time. The Team is also complimented by Debbie and Mary our lovely Dispatchers.
